Welcome to The Prepared!
American Contingency is a nationwide Network of people and groups who want to be prepared, able to respond, and able to recover from any event. Our Discovery Site ( www.AmericanContingency.com) and The Members’ Site ( members.AmericanContingency.com ) are elements of that network. This site and associated phone app(s) help facilitate communication by, between, and for the Members…but it is just the beginning.
Being a Member of this site and Network should be considered the first step, the minimum, in your journey toward living a prepared lifestyle. You will get much more from American Contingency, your fellow Members, and your local teams if YOU contribute! Reach out today, join a local team, and get started!
This page outlines what YOU can expect from us as well as what we and your fellow Members expect from you! It is incumbent upon every Member to abide by and when necessary, report violations of these expectations. Abiding by these standards and expectations will ensure everyone gets the most from their time as a Member of the Network.
The American Contingency Mission — YOUR Mission!
The mission of American Contingency is to create a nationwide network of people who are prepared, responsive, and able to recover from any situation.
To support this mission, headquarters and regional support elements provide structure, organization and resources to the Members and Member Organizations in the field. The day-to-day activities at headquarters are focused around:
Informing – keeping Members up to date on current events and thread models they may be exposed to;
Equipping – finding, curating, and offering to Members the best equipment, training, and resources they need to be successful, and;
Connecting – helping Members get and stay connected with other like-minded people to form teams, helping teams form into groups, and groups into a nationwide network.
To execute this mission, local groups and Members focus their activities around:
Preparing – devoting time, talents, and resources to consider likely threats to prepare and practice primary, alternate, contingency, and emergency courses of action;
Responding – exercising a bias toward action, prioritizing your response on yourself, your family, and your community, and being ready to respond when a fellow Member or community member is in need, and;
Recovering – demonstrating the resilience and can-do spirit that built America!
