AmCon members take communications very seriously. Communications is the way we help other members by finding out what is wrong, where to go and what we need to bring to help. Being familiar with different types of radios and what their capabilities are is very important. Like having the right tool for the job. In AmCon we generally use two types of radios, GMRS and Ham. Learn about antennas, how to talk in a group and radio wave propagation and getting your GMRS and Ham license will make you a better communicator and a better AmCon asset. If you think radios is your thing, think about joining AHRN and start talking to other members.
The AmCon Ham Radio Network (AHRN) is the communications branch of American Contingency and is one of the largest ham clubs in the country. But you don’t have to be a licenses amateur to participate, in fact, even if you are just getting started, AHRN is the place you need to be.
